Your Role:

As a Compliance Analyst, you will:

  • Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) checks across various Australian entity types to satisfy AUSTRAC identification and verification requirements.
  • Analyze customer KYC data, perform risk analysis, and conduct deep-dive investigations on complex accounts when required.
  • Conduct and review screening checks for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), sanctions, and adverse media.
  • Liaise directly with customers to collect required verification documentation to complete the due diligence process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams including Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales while supporting ad-hoc risk and compliance initiatives.

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

  • Experience working within Banking, Financial Services, or Payments sectors.
  • Solid understanding of effective risk management frameworks and financial crime prevention principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with proven problem-solving, risk analysis, and deep-dive investigation capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, remain focused under pressure, and work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills/expertise

  • Professional qualifications or certifications relating to AML/KYC, Investigations, or Regulatory Compliance (e.g., CAMS or similar).
  • Prior experience operating within a high-growth startup environment.
  • Familiarity with Australian regulatory frameworks, entity types, and AUSTRAC compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media screening investigations.
  • Background in customer onboarding, document verification, or direct customer liaison for compliance reviews.
