Portfolio Manager Engagement - Fixed Income Technology

About Millennium

Millennium is a global, diversified alternative investment firm, founded in 1989. Defined by evolution, innovation and focus, Millennium's mission is to deliver results for our investors.

Our people are empowered with both independence and support: the autonomy to pursue ideas with conviction and the backing of a global network committed to collaboration, disciplined risk management and continuous learning. With opportunities to deepen expertise and accelerate development, talent at Millennium is equipped to adapt, evolve and build lasting impact over time. Discover how transformative growth accelerates impact.

Meet the Team

Core to the health and growth of our business, the firm's active, multi-manager business model demands flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including the development of the next generation of analytical and trading capabilities. The Fixed Income Technology team is responsible for the development and support of trading platforms, position and risk management systems, data, infrastructure, and tools used by our Fixed Income portfolio managers.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with portfolio manager teams, serving as their primary technology point of contact.
  • Act as a tech-savvy partner to PM teams — fielding technical inquiries, understanding their workflows, solving complex problems, and guiding them to the right tools and solutions.
  • Drive the rollout and adoption of our internal application suite and related tools across PM teams.
  • Work directly with portfolio management teams to provide hands-on technical support, help solve complex problems, and guide them toward the right tools and solutions for their needs.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within investment bank technology teams, buy-side firms, exchanges, or software vendors.
  • Solid financial markets experience, including exposure to trading applications, risk management, operations, middle office, and Fixed Income products.
  • Subject matter expertise in Fixed Income markets, trading, pricing, analytics, risk management, and related technology.
  • Prior experience working in front-office technology teams is highly desirable, including roles in development or other relevant technology functions.
  • Ability to serve as a technical liaison — capturing portfolio management and trading teams' requirements and feedback, translating business needs into actionable requirements, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical details with development teams and users, while providing clear, concise updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience engaging directly with portfolio managers and the ability to demonstrate tools and platforms in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Coding, software development, and AI tooling skills and experience are a strong plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
