  • Coordinate strategic underwriting planning and help connect portfolio performance to longer-term business priorities.
  • Lead distribution and broker portfolio analysis where an enterprise view improves underwriting decision-making.
  • Partner with Actuarial to incorporate pricing adequacy, loss-cost trends and portfolio economics into portfolio decisions while preserving Actuarial’s independent challenge.
  • Partner with Reinsurance on capacity, volatility, aggregation and risk-transfer considerations while Reinsurance remains directly aligned to the CUO.
  • Provide executive leadership to Risk Engineering, ensuring risk-selection, loss-prevention, engineering and emerging-risk insights are integrated directly into enterprise portfolio strategy and underwriting decisions.
  • Partner closely with the Deputy CUO, Underwriting Excellence, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Risk Engineering, Legal/Compliance, the MSIG international CUO and senior leadership to translate enterprise portfolio insights into underwriting standards, priorities and actions.
  • Provide portfolio challenge to business/product leaders while preserving their ownership of P&L, growth, market strategy, broker/MGA commercial relationships and underwriting execution within authority.

  • Broad underwriting and portfolio-management expertise across multiple Commercial P&C products, channels, and business units.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise portfolio management, including performance oversight, portfolio review, mix, concentration, volatility, and corrective action.
  • Deep experience evaluating portfolio economics and underwriting performance across products, channels and business units.
  • Proven ability to interpret underwriting performance and make enterprise-level decisions related to capacity deployment, portfolio mix, concentration, growth, and corrective action.
  • Experience integrating underwriting, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Risk Engineering, distribution, and portfolio analytics perspectives into strategic business decisions.
  • Commercially oriented and analytically strong, with the judgment and credibility to challenge and influence senior business and underwriting leaders.
  • Strong executive communication, enterprise leadership, decision-making, and change-leadership skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
