Summary / Job Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Strategy supports strategic and cross-functional initiatives that are critical to the CEO and senior management. Working across underwriting, claims, finance, legal, technology, operations, HR, and other functions, the Senior Manager translates executive priorities into actionable plans, leads complex initiatives from strategy through implementation, and helps maintain alignment with the international head office. The position is suited for a hands-on, consultative professional who can move comfortably between strategic thought leadership and detailed execution in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and cross-cultural environment.

Essential Functions:

Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Planning (30%)

  • Initiate, develop, and execute initiatives supporting MSIG USA's mid- to long-term growth strategies, including geographic expansion, business-line strategy, capability building, and other CEO priorities.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into practical workplans, milestones, decision points, and measurable outcomes.
  • Conduct market, industry, competitor, financial, operational, and other research; perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate opportunities, risks, and strategic alternatives.
  • Develop data-driven assessments, business cases, and recommendations to support CEO and executive decision-making.
  • Monitor progress against strategic priorities and elevate emerging risks, interdependencies, and decisions requiring executive attention.

Cross-Functional Initiative and Project Leadership (40%)

  • Lead complex, time-bound initiatives from strategy through implementation, typically managing multiple concurrent projects of varying duration.
  • Establish project scope, governance, workstreams, timelines, milestones, accountabilities, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across functions and levels, drive accountability without formal authority, resolve obstacles, and identify organizational or execution gaps that could affect delivery.
  • Maintain action logs and follow-up mechanisms to ensure commitments are completed and executive decisions are implemented.
  • Provide hands-on support with analysis, coordination, documentation, budget oversight when applicable, and execution activities as needed.

Executive Communication and Decision Support (20%)

  • Prepare concise, accurate, and executive-ready materials for management meetings, Board discussions, and priority CEO agendas.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear presentations, decision memos, briefing materials, dashboards, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate input from multiple stakeholders, challenge inconsistencies, and ensure materials are complete, fact-based, and aligned to the intended decision or discussion.
  • Support meeting preparation and follow-up by documenting decisions, owners, next steps, and deadlines.

International and Cross-Cultural Collaboration (10%)

  • Build effective working relationships across MSIG USA and with international stakeholders, including the head office.
  • Facilitate alignment across functional, organizational, and cultural perspectives while maintaining focus on business outcomes.
  • Adapt communication and working style as appropriate and handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
