The posting

Purpose of Position: The 1st shift Shipping GAPP (General Associate Premium Pay) will contribute to the success of the Shipping Department by preparing and staging daily shipments according to customer requirements in a safe manner following all policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Pull materials to match load list from Edibar
  • Maintain C&O while completing daily tasks
  • Participate in physical inventories
  • Remove returnable containers from trailers
  • Compare and document Bills of Lading discrepancies
  • Turn in required paperwork to technician
  • Systems and continuous improvement orientation
  • Problem analysis and resolution
  • Other duties assigned by management

Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in driving a forklift preferred but not required

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Stand/Walk at least 8 hours a day
  • Bend, stoop, or kneel
  • Repetitive motions
  • Lift and stack boxes up to 50 lbs.
  • Overtime may be required
