Social Content & Growth Strategist Fully Remote Work From Home Role Compensation Based on Experience
Role
Our client is a comic and entertainment company looking for a hands on Social Content & Growth Strategist to help build audiences around their characters, stories, digital products, games, and upcoming entertainment projects.
This is not a traditional social media manager role. They need someone who can research what is working, generate original ideas, create content, direct a graphics team, publish, analyze results, and continually evolve the strategy.
You should be equally comfortable coming up with a meme, editing a Reel, researching why an account is suddenly growing, building next week’s content calendar, and looking at analytics to determine what to try next.
They are looking for someone curious, resourceful, organized, creatively ambitious, and deeply familiar with how internet culture and social platforms actually work today.
What You'll Do
Creative & Content
- Develop original concepts for memes, static posts, carousels, short-form videos, character content, and recurring social series.
- Turn concepts into finished, publishable content using the company’s existing artwork and assets.
- Write strong captions, hooks, headlines, and short-form copy in distinct character voices.
- Edit short-form videos and create social-first graphics.
- Use AI-assisted creative tools intelligently while ensuring finished content feels intentional, polished, and human rather than generically AI-generated.
- Identify opportunities to repurpose comics, animation, games, trailers, and other existing assets into social content.
Growth & Research
- Constantly research emerging social formats, platform changes, algorithm behavior, creators, entertainment brands, fandoms, memes, and cultural trends.
- Identify what’s driving growth for other accounts and translate those observations into experiments the team can run.
- Develop strategies for reaching non-followers through shares, recommendations, collaborations, creators, trends, and other organic distribution.
- Find relevant creators, communities, accounts, and potential collaborators.
- Proactively bring new growth ideas to the team rather than waiting for assignments.
Publishing & Organization
- Own and maintain the social content calendar.
- Schedule and publish consistently across active accounts.
- Keep assets, drafts, approvals, captions, and publishing schedules organized.
- Coordinate with designers, animators, editors, and other team members for assets as needed.
- Help manage multiple distinct social accounts.
Analytics & Experimentation
- Track reach, non-follower reach, engagement, shares, saves, watch time, profile visits, follower growth, clicks, and other relevant metrics.
- Identify which content and formats are actually driving discovery and audience growth.
- Run small experiments, evaluate the results, and quickly iterate.
- Provide simple, actionable reporting focused on what worked, what didn’t, why, and what should be done next.
- As the company’s commerce ecosystem grows, help connect social performance to digital product sales, game engagement, email acquisition, and app growth.
What we're looking for
- Strong understanding of Instagram/Meta and TikTok, particularly short-form content and organic discovery.
- Demonstrated ability to personally create compelling social content, not simply manage other creators.
- Strong copywriting instincts and a good sense of humor.
- Fluency in memes, internet culture, entertainment, fandoms, creators, and emerging social trends.
- Comfortable with Canva and/or Adobe tools, plus short-form video editing software.
- Experience using modern AI creative tools is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several content streams simultaneously.
- Analytical enough to understand performance data without losing the creative instinct behind great content.
- Resourceful and comfortable figuring things out independently.
- Proactive — someone who brings ideas and opportunities to the team rather than needing a detailed assignment for every task.
Most importantly: The client is less interested in years of experience than in evidence that you understand how audiences grow today and can turn that understanding into actual content. Know how to learn.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first few months, the client expects this person to help establish consistent publishing across their accounts, develop recognizable content formats for individual characters, improve non-follower reach and organic discovery, identify repeatable growth opportunities, and create a faster feedback loop between research → idea → content → performance → next experiment.
The larger goal is to turn the company’s social channels into an audience engine that supports its characters, digital products, games, original shows, and ultimately the broader company ecosystem.
