Accounts Assistant Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible Accounts Assistant to support our finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will have experience in accounting, billing, payment processing, accounts receivable/payable, and preparation of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Perform daily accounting and bookkeeping activities.
  • Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions and supporting documents.
  • Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, payment records and other financial documents.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and accounting records.

Billing & Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
  • Verify billing details against contracts, quotations, purchase orders and supporting documents.

Payments & Accounts Payable

  • Process supplier invoices and payment requests.
  • Verify invoices and supporting documents before payment.
  • Prepare payment schedules and assist with bank payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding invoices and payment matters.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management reports.
  • Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable ageing reports.
  • Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide accounting information and supporting schedules for management review.
  • Assist in preparing documents required for audits, tax filings and other statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • At least 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payment processing.
  • Familiarity with preparing basic financial and management reports.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in Singapore accounting practices will be an advantage.
