The Anaesthesia Technician will be part of the team in the Department of Anaesthesiology. The duties and responsibilities includes the following (but not limited to):
- Assist in the acquisition, maintenance and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anaesthesia. In this role, he/she will work in a team and contribute to safe, efficient and cost-effective anaesthesia care.
- Acquire technical knowledge of newly commissioned anaesthetic equipment.
- Transport and setup anaesthesia equipment at remote locations. Provide technical support during the conduct of anaesthesia.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot and do minor repairs of faulty anaesthesia equipment to render them safe and operational.
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on anaesthesia equipment.
- Collaborate with Biomedical Engineers to service and maintain anaesthesia equipment in optimal condition.
- Support on operation of the hyperbaric chamber and performing all the safety checks that are required.
Requirement:
- Diploma in Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant Industrial Technician Certificate.
- Relevant working experience in a hospital setting will be advantageous
