The posting

  • Location: Compass One
  • Salary: $3,600 to $4,500 per month, with Variable Bonus
  • Working Hours: 5-day work week
  • Weekdays: 2.00pm to 9.00pm
  • Weekends: 9.00am to 6.00pm
  • Rest Days: 1 weekday and 1 weekend day

Job Summary

The Assistant Centre Manager is responsible for supporting the overall operations and management of the centre. The successful candidate will lead and supervise the Customer Relations Associates, support teachers, maintain high standards of customer service and ensure that the centre operates efficiently in accordance with established procedures and centre goals.

Key Responsibilities

Centre Operations

  • Ensure that centre operations comply with established Standard Operating Procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct regular weekly meetings with Customer Relations Associates to provide clear communication, direction and operational updates.
  • Oversee administrative and logistical matters to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the centre.
  • Monitor the cleanliness, facilities and overall condition of the centre and ensure that maintenance matters are addressed promptly.

Team Management

  • Lead, supervise and motivate Customer Relations Associates to achieve operational and centre objectives.
  • Foster a positive, professional and productive working environment to maintain staff morale and reduce staff turnover.
  • Establish a performance driven and fair working environment that recognizes good performance.
  • Manage staff performance and disciplinary matters professionally, firmly and fairly.

Centre Management

  • Support the achievement of student enrolment targets and monitor withdrawal rates.
  • Follow up closely with customers regarding student withdrawals and trial class conversions.
  • Build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers to support customer retention and centre development.

Customer Service

  • Oversee customer service activities and ensure a warm, professional and consistent customer experience.
  • Handle and resolve escalated customer enquiries, feedback and concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Build rapport with prospective and existing customers and maintain positive relationships with families.
  • Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely submission of financial and operational reports.
  • Prepare and submit timesheets for part-time Customer Relations Associates and cleaners to the Human Resources department.

Teacher Support

  • Source and coordinate relief teachers when required.
  • Coordinate class rescheduling arrangements with teachers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct teacher orientation to familiarize teachers with the centre, facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor teachers' compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare and submit teacher payroll reports to Headquarters within the required timelines.
  • Undertake other ad hoc projects and assignments as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Education or a related discipline. Candidates with a Diploma and relevant supervisory experience and proven track record may also be considered.
  • At least 4 years of relevant supervisory or team management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational and administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle customer enquiries and escalated concerns professionally.
  • Candidates with experience in education, tuition, enrichment, student care or other service-oriented environments will be considered favorably.
