Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on international trade and shipping documentation regulations to ensurecompliance.
- Manage shipment documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, letters of credit (LC), certificates of origin (COO), and other customer-specific documents.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase documentation accuracy, speed, and costefficiency.
- Maintain organized records and files of all shipping documents and correspondence to prevent delays and customs issues.
- Conduct routine verification of shipping documents for compliance audits.
- Identify and resolve potential compliance risks related to shipping documentation.
- Apply corrective measures to minimize compliance problems and ensure document accuracy.
- Communicate with customers and external parties to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.
- Train and mentor shipping staff on proper documentation practices and compliance standards.
Required competencies and certifications:
- Diploma or Degree in logistics or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing shipping documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using export documentation software and platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently across diverse skill areas.
