The posting

The Role

The purpose of the role is to handle all aspects of loss adjusting and other consultancy assignments, within your assigned department and / or geography within Charles Taylor Adjusting. The position involves the investigation, evaluation and management of insurance claims, with particular focus on onshore and offshore energy sectors, including wind, solar, and oil & gas, on behalf of the underwriters to whom we report. The role will require you to provide an efficient and high-quality claims handling service for various insurers. You will be providing direct support to policy holders whilst reporting to their Insurers in respect to the claim investigation findings.

Key Responsibilities

1. To perform a loss adjusting function in respect of new claims and those already handled in the offices which have been delegated by Executive Adjusters and / or Directors. This will involve, but not be limited to: -

§ Receiving and acknowledging new claims instructions

§ Managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional manner within agreed SLA’s

§ Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties

§ Preparing preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions

§ Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary

§ Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications

§ Calculating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims, and preparing accurate final reports.

§ In conjunction with the Singapore Branch Manager and wider team – identifying and deploying ongoing process improvement strategies to increase profitability in the management of scale fee work. Included but not limited to:

o Considering the opportunities presented with AI technology

o Engaging with the Claim Technician and admin support to maximise time and effort

2. To assist in and develop the effective marketing of your assigned adjusting department and the wider Charles Taylor service offering. This will include, but not be limited to: -

§ The maintenance of existing, and development of new opportunities within the Singapore and SEA direct Insurer market

§ Helping to identify and plan approaches to new Clients

§ Hosting and attending networking events outside of office hours

§ Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations and tenders to Clients and potential Clients

§ Assisting others with their marketing functions

3. Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

4. Demonstrate and champion Charles Taylor Values by ensuring Agility,Integrity, Care, and Accountability and Collaboration.

Required Skills

§ Substantial career history as a Power /Energy Loss Adjuster, with exposure to international claims both within and outside of SEA

§ Master’s degree in engineering discipline

§ Holds professional qualifications in Loss Adjusting and / or Insurance

§ Excellent English Language (written, spoken and aural), with high calibre report-writing skills

§ Enthusiasm and commitment towards furthering technical skills and career as a Loss Adjuster

§ Technology savvy – high competency in utilising Microsoft Office suite

§ Strong focus on customer service excellence at all times

§ High attention to detail and analytical skills
