The posting

Meta seeks a commercial transactions lawyer who can effectively prioritize and manage work in a dynamic environment and can drive the execution of contracts to support the network infrastructure team in the Asia-Pacific region.

In this role, you will handle negotiations for the build out and operation of infrastructure that is critical to Meta's services, business, and AI aspirations. You will work closely with legal colleagues from various areas, tax, finance, and other teams to ensure our contracts are well-calibrated across relevant areas of risk and are reflective of the company's policies and risk tolerance. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to manage competing priorities, have experience communicating complex legal and business matters clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and be an effective negotiator.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, and negotiate a broad range of agreements in support of the expansion of Meta's network infrastructure, including subsea cable system project documents (e.g., joint build agreements, system supply contracts). General Terms and Conditions for telecommunications services, colocation agreements, and dark fibre leases and IRUs
  • Use AI tools to leverage your capabilities and enhance productivity
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (e.g., Finance, Tax, Compliance) and external counsel to structure contract documentation to meet deployment needs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients and cross-functional partners
  • Provide practical business and legal advice aligned with company policies and risk tolerance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
  • A law degree and a practicing certificate (or an equivalent), in a common law jurisdiction
  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial transactions, infrastructure, or telecommunications law
  • Experience in structuring, drafting, and negotiating technical infrastructure and/or telecommunications agreements
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, along with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience working on cross-border transactions in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing telecommunications and network infrastructure in APAC markets
  • Diligent, well-organized, and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, cross-functional partners, and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance legal workflows, such as contract drafting, research, or review

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing and coordinating with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Prior in-house experience at a technology or telecommunications company
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience with submarine cable systems, data center infrastructure, or large-scale network deployment projects

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
