Job Summary

We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to join our development team in building our next-generation AI-powered Human Resource Information System (AI HRIS).

The successful candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements understanding, application design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of HRIS modules. The role will involve developing modern web applications, APIs, Microsoft Fabric database and data components, and AI-enabled features while working closely with full stack developers, AI Engineer, functional teams, and product stakeholders.

This position is suitable for a software developer who has a strong foundation in software development and is keen to develop expertise in enterprise HRIS applications, Microsoft cloud and data technologies, and Artificial Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain application features for the AI HRIS platform.
  • Develop front-end and back-end components using modern software development frameworks and technologies.
  • Develop and integrate REST APIs and services between HRIS modules and external systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, secure, and reusable code following established development standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate fixes.
  • Participate in code reviews and continuously improve code quality and development practices.

AI HRIS Development

  • Participate in the development and enhancement of HRIS modules such as Employee Management, Leave, Payroll, Recruitment/Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Training, and other HR functions.
  • Support the integration of AI capabilities into HRIS workflows and business processes.
  • Work with the team to explore the practical use of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and AI-assisted workflows within HR applications.
  • Assist in developing AI-enabled functions such as intelligent assistants, document processing, recommendations, data analysis, and workflow automation.
  • Learn and understand HR and payroll business processes and translate functional requirements into software solutions.

Microsoft Fabric, Database & Data Development

  • Develop and maintain database and data components using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Assist in designing database structures, data models, tables, relationships, and data access components for the AI HRIS platform.
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries and other data processing components.
  • Work with Microsoft Fabric data services, including Fabric Warehouse, Lakehouse, SQL endpoints, and related data capabilities where applicable.
  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and data integration processes within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Support data migration, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, performance, and appropriate access controls.
  • Work with senior team members on database architecture, data modelling, performance optimisation, and integration design.
  • Support reporting, analytics, and AI requirements by providing appropriate data structures and datasets.

System Integration

  • Develop interfaces and integrations with internal and external systems using APIs, files, and other integration methods.
  • Assist with integration between HRIS modules and third-party applications.
  • Participate in the design and development of secure APIs for exchanging HR and payroll information.
  • Troubleshoot data and system integration issues.

Testing & Quality

  • Perform unit, integration, functional, and regression testing for developed features.
  • Investigate and resolve defects identified during internal testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work with team members to ensure applications meet functional, performance, security, and usability requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation for developed functions, databases, APIs, and interfaces.

DevOps, Cloud & Security

  • Participate in source control, build, deployment, and release activities using modern DevOps practices.
  • Support application and Microsoft Fabric deployment across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Gain practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, cloud application architecture, databases, and deployment.
  • Follow secure coding practices and organisational information security requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing application vulnerabilities and software security issues.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Software Engineers, AI Engineers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and HRIS functional teams.
  • Participate in requirements discussions, technical design discussions, sprint planning, and project meetings.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned development tasks and highlight technical issues or potential delays.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot technical and functional issues.
  • Continuously learn new technologies, development tools, AI technologies, Microsoft Fabric capabilities, and HRIS business knowledge.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Relevant internship, project, or software development experience will be an added advantage.
  • Passionate about software development and technology, with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet project timelines and deliverables.
