ALG is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager for our Aerospace OEM client in Singapore. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business development, marketing and sales activities across assigned Asia Pacific markets, with a focus on developing military and civil aviation customers and major fleet sales programmes.

Company Background

Our client is a US aerospace manufacturer producing military rotorcraft and commercial helicopters, and is also engaged in the wholesale supply of aircraft equipment and aeronautical parts. The role sits within the client's finance function, supporting the procurement-to-pay cycle for the company's aircraft equipment and supplies business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and execute business development and sales activities across assigned countries.
  • Identify and develop potential military and civil aviation customers, with a focus on major fleet sales programmes.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and market share objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, buyers and key stakeholders across assigned markets.
  • Manage and coordinate Independent Representatives to support marketing and sales activities in respective countries.
  • Prepare and submit sales proposals, customer responses and other commercial documentation accurately and within required timelines.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Legal, Contracts, Applications Engineering, Finance, Program Management, Operations and Commercial Estimating to coordinate sales activities and proposals.
  • Monitor market developments, customer requirements and business opportunities across the region.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on sales programmes, market developments and business opportunities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with relevant government and diplomatic representatives.
  • Undertake significant regional and international travel to support sales and marketing activities.

Job Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Aviation, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven sales experience, including at least 5 years of sales experience within the aviation industry.
  • Experience in aircraft or helicopter sales will be highly relevant.
  • Candidates with a commercial aviation background and pilot licence may also be considered.
  • Aviation technical knowledge and experience will be an advantage.
  • Strong business acumen with good planning, time management and customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and business stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively as required by the business.
