The posting

We are looking for a proactive and driven Brand & Product Specifier to promote our brands and products within the design and building industry. The role focuses on building relationships with architects, interior designers, developers and other industry professionals, and driving the specification of our tiles and large-format tiles for residential and commercial projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for presenting our products, providing product and technical information, identifying project opportunities, and following up with project stakeholders from the initial specification stage through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, contractors and other industry professionals.
  • Promote the company’s tile brands, large-format tiles and related products to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Identify new project opportunities and work towards getting the company’s products specified for suitable projects.
  • Conduct product presentations, showroom visits and product demonstrations for architects, designers and clients.
  • Provide accurate product information, technical specifications, samples and recommendations based on project requirements.
  • Advise clients and designers on suitable tile products, finishes, sizes and applications.
  • Follow up on specified projects and maintain regular communication with relevant project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and work closely with the sales team to convert specifications into actual sales.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on product availability, samples, quotations and project requirements.
  • Keep up to date with tile products, design trends, market developments and competitor activities.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, exhibitions and industry events when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of project leads, specifications and follow-up activities.
  • Perform other sales and business development duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in product specification, sales, business development or the building/interior design industry.
  • Experience working with architects, interior designers, developers or contractors is an advantage.
  • Experience with large-format tiles, sintered stone, laminates, architectural surfaces and other interior finishing materials is an advantage.
  • Strong product presentation and communication skills.
  • Confident and comfortable engaging with clients and industry professionals.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and follow-ups.
  • Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits and industry events when required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and preparing presentations and sales documents.
