Job Description:
The Building Drafter is responsible for preparing accurate architectural and construction drawings based on project requirements, design specifications, site conditions, and instructions from engineers, architects, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed architectural, structural, and construction drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
- Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and layout drawings.
- Convert design concepts, sketches, and technical information into accurate working drawings.
- Revise and update drawings according to consultant, client, engineer, or project team comments.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and submission drawings.
- Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building services requirements.
- Check drawing dimensions, specifications, and technical details for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and project managers with drawing-related requirements.
- Attend site visits when necessary to verify measurements and existing site conditions.
- Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and document control.
- Ensure all drawings follow company standards, project specifications, and relevant authority requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding drawing clarifications.
- Prepare presentation drawings and technical details for project meetings when required.
- Support tender preparation and construction documentation.
- Update drawings based on actual site progress and approved variations.
- Ensure timely submission of drawings according to project schedules.
- Perform other drafting and technical documentation duties assigned by management.
