The posting
If you have worked retail, F&B or a hotel front desk, you already have most of what this job needs. What you probably do not have is a schedule you can plan your week around. That is the part we are offering.
Work schedule: 5-day work week on a rotating shift, including at least one weekend day. Two rest days every week. Day shifts 8:30am to 6:15pm. No night shifts. Clinics closed on public holidays.
What you'll do
- Check patients in and out, and be the person they deal with first
- Book, confirm and move appointments across the day
- Take payments, and handle cash and card accurately
- Submit and track dental claims — CHAS, Medisave and private insurance
- Answer calls, emails and counter enquiries
What you'll learn
- Healthcare billing and claims — CHAS, Medisave and private insurance. This transfers across the healthcare sector, not just dentistry.
- Clinic scheduling and patient flow, which is what keeps a three-clinic group running to time
- How to handle anxious patients. A lot of people are nervous about the dentist, and whether they come back often comes down to how they were treated at the desk.
Your first month, and where it leads
- One month of structured induction, working through a written manual and training checklist with our Ops team and senior front desk staff as your mentors
- Trainee to Business Associate: 3 to 6 months
- Higher pay grade at around one year
- Business Associate to Senior Business Associate: 2 to 3 years
- We sponsor courses and certification for trainees, and again when you are promoted
What we're looking for
- A local diploma or degree in any subject
- Service experience of any kind — retail, F&B, hotel, beauty, call centre
- Clear communication, written and spoken
- Comfortable picking up new computer systems
- No healthcare or dental experience needed
Pay and benefits
- $2,500 – $3,000 per month
- CPF, paid leave that grows with service, outpatient medical insurance
- Reward Leave, plus performance, referral and punctuality incentives
About us
- Smile Point is clinician-led — a dentist sets the clinical direction, not an investor group
- Three clinics, operating since 2005 — your leave gets covered, and you are not the only person on the desk
How to apply
You do not need dental experience. If you have dealt with customers, kept your head at a busy counter, and want a job that finishes at 6:15pm, send us your application.
