The posting

You will be involved in projects that require you to think, research and contribute ideas. This could mean sitting in on business discussions, helping to evaluate new opportunities, researching a particular industry, analysing a business challenge or supporting the development of a new initiative.

You will learn how professionals approach problems and make commercial decisions, while developing your own ability to break down complex situations and identify practical solutions. You may also help prepare presentations, reports, proposals and other materials used for client meetings and business planning.

Marketing and business growth will also be an important part of the experience. You may work on digital campaigns, lead generation initiatives and brand-building projects across different platforms. Rather than simply carrying out instructions, you will have opportunities to look at campaign results, understand what the numbers are telling you and suggest ways to improve engagement and reach.

Work With Real Data and Real Projects

Data analysis will be another part of your learning experience. You may work with business and marketing data to identify trends, track performance and support decision-making. This could include monitoring key performance indicators, reviewing project progress, preparing reports and identifying areas where the organisation can improve or grow.

You will also have opportunities to conduct research into financial markets, economic developments, industries and investment topics. Your research could eventually become a market commentary, educational article, newsletter, research report or other content used by the team.

This gives you the chance to experience the full process, from finding information and analysing it, to turning your findings into something useful.

Depending on the projects you work on, you may gain experience related to business consulting, mortgage consultancy, financial education, marketing, investments, training programmes, business development and operational improvement.

This can be especially valuable if you are still figuring out what you want to do after university. You will get to see how different functions work together and discover which areas of business you enjoy most.

You may be given your own research assignment, asked to analyse a business problem, contribute ideas to a project or help develop a new initiative. As you become more comfortable, you will have opportunities to take greater ownership of your work and see how your contributions fit into the organisation's wider objectives.
