The posting

About Mdm Ling Bakery Mdm Ling Bakery is a Singapore bakery brand built on a simple promise: Love Them All. We bake in our own facility, run our own warehouse and manage our own deliveries, serving retail, e-commerce, corporate gifting, wholesale and institutional customers across Singapore.

About The Role

Our corporate, wholesale and institutional business is growing, and we are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead that growth. You will carry your own portfolio and your own target, and manage the full cycle from first approach through to repeat order, reporting to the founder.

This is a role with real ownership. You will be in the room when the deal is negotiated, and you will have our own factory and warehouse behind you, so what you sell can actually be made and delivered. We are looking for someone who knows the F&B trade, can open a door, hold a margin and keep a customer coming back.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach and win new corporate, wholesale, retail and institutional accounts across our product range.
  • Build and maintain an accurate pipeline that the business can forecast against.
  • Prepare and present proposals, product tastings and pitches to prospective customers.
  • Negotiate pricing, volumes, lead times and terms within our commercial framework, escalating anything outside it for approval.
  • Grow the accounts you own through regular contact, the right product mix and seasonal campaigns, and conduct periodic account reviews.
  • Own the annual festive and corporate gifting cycle for your accounts, including forecasting and pre-selling.
  • Work with our production and kitchen teams on customer requests, customisation, packaging and realistic lead times before committing to a customer.
  • Work with the sales administration, warehouse and logistics teams so that every order you close is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Monitor competitor activity, retail pricing and market trends, and bring recommendations to management.
  • Submit weekly pipeline updates and monthly reports against your targets, and support the recovery of overdue accounts.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, roadshows and bazaars.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of business development or key account sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years in the food and beverage industry. F&B industry experience is a firm requirement for this role.
  • A proven track record of opening new accounts and meeting or exceeding sales targets, which you should be able to talk us through.
  • Sound working knowledge of F&B commercial practice, including product costing, margins, shelf life, lead times, listings and trade terms.
  • Confident in presenting, negotiating and building relationships at buyer and management level.
  • Comfortable with sales systems, spreadsheets and reporting, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to travel locally for customer visits and events, and to work occasional weekends during peak festive periods.
  • Experience selling into supermarkets, hotels, airlines, corporate gifting buyers or institutional procurement will be advantageous.
  • Experience with tender submissions and procurement portal registrations will be viewed favourably.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
