The role is focused on developing new customers, expanding business with existing accounts, identifying new product opportunities, and working closely with customers and our production team to develop practical sauce solutions for their operations.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands the Singapore F&B industry and is comfortable building relationships with chefs, purchasing teams, F&B managers and business owners.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the hotel, restaurant, catering, institutional and food-service sectors.
  • Prospect for new customers through direct outreach, referrals, industry contacts, events and site visits.
  • Arrange meetings, product presentations, tastings and trials with prospective customers.
  • Develop relationships with Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, Purchasing Managers, F&B Managers, Procurement teams and business owners.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and follow up systematically until opportunities are concluded.

Account Development

  • Build strong long-term relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through additional products, outlets or departments.
  • Monitor customer requirements and changes in menus, volumes and operations.
  • Work with customers to identify sauces or food-preparation processes that can be outsourced to improve consistency, labour efficiency or kitchen productivity.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries, feedback and commercial opportunities.

Market Development

  • Monitor developments in the Singapore F&B and hospitality sectors.
  • Identify new hotels, restaurants, catering operations, central kitchens and other potential customers.
  • Gather information on competitors, market pricing, customer trends and emerging product requirements.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, tastings, trade events and industry functions.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, sales or account management within F&B, food manufacturing, food service, hospitality or a related industry.
  • Good understanding of the Singapore F&B market.
  • Existing relationships with chefs, hotels, restaurants, caterers or food-service operators would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable approaching new customers and developing business from initial contact through to commercial order.
  • Able to communicate effectively with both culinary and purchasing personnel.
  • Good organisational and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, email and other standard business applications.
  • Valid driving licence and own transport would be an advantage.

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate should be:

  • Commercially minded and results-oriented.
  • Confident meeting chefs and senior F&B personnel.
  • Persistent without being overly aggressive.
  • Practical and comfortable working in a small-business environment.
  • Able to understand both customer requirements and manufacturing limitations.
  • Reliable in following up commitments and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Interested in food and capable of discussing sauces, flavours and kitchen applications credibly.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
