The posting

Role Overview

Our client is a newly established subsea robotics company seeking a Business Development Executive to support the commercial launch of its ROV and subsea solutions.

The primary objective of this position is to identify genuine customers operating within the ROV and subsea market, develop new business opportunities, and help the company secure its first customer projects.

This is a hands-on position covering business development, customer coordination and basic marketing support. Candidates do not need to be specialists in all three areas, but they must have relevant commercial exposure within the ROV, subsea, offshore or marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Sales

  • Research and identify potential customers requiring ROV, subsea robotics or related underwater solutions.
  • Develop new business opportunities with ROV operators, subsea contractors, offshore operators, shipowners and marine service companies.
  • Identify relevant decision-makers and establish direct contact with prospective customers.
  • Generate and qualify sales leads through market research, networking, referrals, cold outreach and industry events.
  • Arrange and conduct customer meetings, presentations and technical-commercial discussions.
  • Understand customers’ operational and technical requirements and introduce appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals and commercial offers.
  • Support commercial negotiations and work towards securing initial customer projects or product trials.
  • Maintain an updated pipeline of leads, customer discussions and potential projects.

Customer and Project Coordination

  • Act as a commercial point of contact between customers and the company’s management, engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Gather customer requirements and coordinate internal discussions on product specifications, customization and project feasibility.
  • Support the commercial handover of confirmed projects to the relevant technical and operational teams.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain regular communication with customers.
  • Assist with documentation, project updates and commercial project closure when required.

Marketing Support

  • Assist in preparing company presentations, product information and other sales materials.
  • Support the company’s participation in marine, offshore, ROV and subsea exhibitions or networking events.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activities and potential market opportunities.
  • Provide market feedback to support product development and commercial planning.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of business development, technical sales, commercial or customer-facing experience within one or more of the following areas:ROV operations or equipmentSubsea services or technologyOffshore operationsMarine engineering or technical servicesUnderwater inspection, repair or maintenance
  • Able to identify potential customers and develop new business opportunities independently.
  • Comfortable communicating with both commercial and technical stakeholders.
  • Able to understand customer requirements and coordinate with engineering or project teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Willing to work in a newly established company and support responsibilities beyond pure sales.
  • Comfortable travelling when required.

Important Role Clarification

This is primarily a commercial and customer-development position. Applicants whose experience is limited to engineering, field service, technical operations, purchasing or internal project coordination without direct involvement in sales, lead generation or customer acquisition may not be suitable.

Direct ROV or subsea commercial experience will be strongly preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
