BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Company: Cacao Social Pte. Ltd. (Mr Bucket Chocolaterie)

Reports to: CEO

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding Mr Bucket’s business opportunities through corporate sales, gifting, events, strategic partnerships and new business channels.

The role focuses on identifying and converting new opportunities, building strong and long-term client relationships, and growing key accounts. The Business Development Manager will work closely with internal teams to develop commercially viable solutions and ensure a smooth handover and execution of confirmed projects.

The role also supports Mr Bucket’s long-term growth by identifying new markets, partnerships and revenue streams while strengthening the brand’s presence within the corporate and B2B market.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Sales

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive revenue growth across Mr Bucket’s corporate gifting, events, partnerships and other B2B channels.
  2. Proactively source and engage potential corporate clients, event partners, hospitality partners, retailers and other business accounts.
  3. Manage incoming corporate and business enquiries and convert qualified leads into confirmed sales.
  4. Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve agreed monthly and annual revenue targets.
  5. Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations and customised solutions according to clients’ requirements and budgets.
  6. Conduct sales meetings, presentations, tastings and site visits where required.
  7. Negotiate commercial terms while ensuring appropriate margins and profitability are maintained.
  8. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell Mr Bucket’s products, gifting solutions, experiences and event services.

Corporate Gifting & Events

  1. Drive corporate gifting sales, particularly during key seasonal periods such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Mid-Autumn Festival, Deepavali and Christmas.
  2. Work closely with clients to understand their gifting requirements, quantities, customisation, packaging, delivery timelines and budgets.
  3. Develop event and experiential business opportunities including chocolate workshops, corporate engagement activities, private events and brand activations.
  4. Coordinate internally with the relevant teams to ensure confirmed projects are properly handed over and executed according to client expectations.

Partnerships & Key Accounts

  1. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with corporate clients and key business partners.
  2. Identify strategic partnership and collaboration opportunities that strengthen Mr Bucket’s brand presence and generate commercial value.
  3. Manage existing key accounts and identify opportunities to increase repeat business and account value.
  4. Maintain regular communication with clients and conduct appropriate post-project follow-ups to encourage repeat business.
  5. Represent Mr Bucket professionally at networking sessions, trade events, exhibitions and external business meetings.

Commercial Planning & Reporting

  1. Monitor sales performance, pipeline value, conversion rates and business development activities.
  2. Prepare regular sales forecasts and business development reports for Management.
  3. Analyse lost opportunities and client feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  4. Monitor market developments, competitor activities and emerging corporate gifting and event trends.
  5. Recommend new products, packages, partnerships or business channels based on market opportunities.
  6. Ensure proper documentation and records of leads, quotations, confirmed projects and client communications.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  1. Work closely with the Marketing team on campaigns, sales materials, corporate decks and lead-generation initiatives.
  2. Coordinate with Operations, Production, Fulfilment, Retail and Experience teams to ensure operational feasibility and smooth execution of confirmed projects.
  3. Communicate client requirements, deadlines and special arrangements clearly to all relevant stakeholders.
  4. Support Management on new commercial projects and strategic business opportunities as required.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

Performance may be measured based on:

  • B2B and corporate sales revenue achieved
  • Achievement of monthly/annual sales targets
  • New corporate accounts acquired
  • Sales pipeline value and conversion rate
  • Repeat business and client retention
  • Corporate gifting and event revenue
  • Profitability/margin of secured projects
  • Strategic partnerships secured
  • Accuracy of sales forecasting and reporting
  • Client satisfaction and successful project handover

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in business development, corporate sales, account management or partnerships.
  • Experience in F&B, hospitality, retail, events or corporate gifting would be advantageous.
  • Strong sales, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
  • Commercially driven with the ability to work towards revenue targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to manage multiple clients, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proactive, resourceful and comfortable developing new business from the ground up.
