About the Role

JIN Kimchi is a growing Korean foodbrand operating a central kitchen and multiple hawker outlets across Singapore.We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenuegrowth, expand market share, and build strategic partnerships within the foodservice and corporate catering sectors.

This role is responsible foridentifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, andexecuting commercial strategies that support the company's expansion plans. TheBusiness Development Manager will also embed sustainable practices intobusiness development initiatives, positioning JIN Kimchi as a responsible andforward-thinking food partner.

The role will use company-approved AI tools to improve research,commercial content, reporting and cross-functional follow-through, whileremaining accountable for accuracy, confidentiality and business results.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within corporate, institutional, and B2B food service channels
  • Develop and execute structured go-to-market strategies to penetrate target industry segments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders to drive long-term business growth
  • Lead end-to-end proposal development, including RFIs, RFPs, tenders, pricing models, and client presentations

Account Management & Client Retention

  • Develop and implement strategies to retain and grow existing accounts beyond their contractual scope
  • Identify client retention opportunities such as new value-added services, special events, and wellness programmes
  • Evaluate pricing models, cost structures, and contract profitability to ensure sustainable margins
  • Monitor financial performance of secured contracts and drive corrective actions where necessary

Sustainability & Responsible Business

  • Position sustainability as a commercial differentiator in proposals and client engagements
  • Identify opportunities to reduce food waste across client catering operations
  • Explore sustainable packaging options and responsible sourcing practices for corporate catering solutions
  • Support clients in achieving their own sustainability goals through partnership with JIN Kimchi
  • Track and report on sustainability metrics for key accounts to demonstrate environmental responsibility

Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning

  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity within the food service landscape
  • Benchmark industry best practices in pricing models, service delivery formats, and sustainability initiatives
  • Contribute to annual business planning and revenue forecasting exercises
  • Leverage data analytics and CRM systems to identify business gaps and opportunities for portfolio enhancement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations and culinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction
  • Align marketing initiatives with business development priorities to strengthen brand positioning
  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to develop commercially viable solutions

AI-Enabled Business Development & Workflow Improvement

  • Use ChatGPT and Gemini to research target accounts, summarise market and competitor information, and draft tailored outreach, proposals and client follow-ups. Verify sources, product claims and commercial details before use.
  • Use Canva and Leonardo to develop client presentations, sales collateral, campaign concepts and supermarket sampling materials, including support for NTUC FairPrice and Cold Storage activations. Follow brand guidelines and distinguish visual concepts from actual product photography.
  • Apply AI-assisted ideation and scriptwriting to short-form content; prepare clear briefs and coordinate filming, reviews and handovers with the Philippines-based marketing manager and editors. Obtain approval before publication.
  • Use Notion and its approved AI meeting-summary features to review discussions, confirm decisions, and turn agreed actions into tasks with owners and deadlines. Maintain linked account records and follow up with internal teams and distributors through to completion.
  • Use ChatGPT or Gemini with approved, appropriately anonymised data to assist analysis of sales pipelines, campaign results and customer feedback. Reconcile calculations to source spreadsheets and finance records before recommending actions.
  • Build and maintain reusable prompts, templates and documented workflows in Notion to reduce repetitive work. Support assigned cross-functional needs, such as recruitment communications, onboarding materials and supplier comparisons, in coordination with the relevant owners.
  • Use only company-approved tools and accounts; protect client, employee and commercially sensitive information. Review AI outputs for factual errors, bias, intellectual-property issues and unsupported sustainability claims, and retain human approval for hiring decisions, pricing, spending and external commitments.

Commercial Performance & Reporting

  • Manage the P&L performance of assigned projects and accounts
  • Track and manage the business development pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Monitor contract profitability and margin performance against targets
  • Report on the practical results of AI-enabled workflows, including turnaround time, rework, follow-up completion and commercial outcomes; agree targets with management rather than measuring tool usage alone.
