Role Overview
EIC is seeking a part-time specialist Economics teacher for the Cambridge International AS & A Level cohort, preparing students for Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics (9708) at Cambridge centre SG 090. The successful candidate will bring a record of student success at AS and A Level.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics (9708) lessons in line with EIC'sapproved course design and delivery materials and the current Cambridge International syllabus.
• Teach the full syllabus content across AS Level (basic economic ideas and resource allocation; the price system and the microeconomy; government microeconomic intervention; the macroeconomy; government macroeconomic intervention) and the A Level extensions.
• Apply differentiated,mastery-based instruction to meet the needs of learners at varying proficiency levels, including students working in English as an additional language.
• Prepare students for Papers 1to 4 through structured exam practice, mock assessments and targeted feedback calibrated to Cambridge International mark schemes and assessment objectives(AO1 knowledge and understanding, AO2 analysis, AO3 evaluation).
• Record student attendance
• Liaise with the Head ACE on student progress as required.
• Where qualified, deliver Cambridge International AS & A Level Business (9609) lessons to eligible classes.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or above in Economics, or in a related discipline with substantial economics content (postgraduate qualification in Economics or Education is an advantage).
• Relevant pre-university teaching experience, ideally within Cambridge International AS & A Level or an equivalent international qualification.
• A track record of student examination outcomes at AS and A Level.
• Familiarity with the Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics (9708) syllabus, its assessment structure and its mark schemes, including data response and essay technique.
Desirable
• Ability to teach a second Cambridge International subject at AS & A Level, such as Business (9609) or Mathematics (9709).
• Prior experience teaching in a SWDA-registered private education institution delivering Cambridge International programmes.
• Completion of Cambridge International syllabus training for 9708, or a Cambridge Professional Development Qualification.
Payment
$60 per hour
