We are looking for a Captain, Shang Palace to join our team!

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of Shang Palace to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Lead, motivate and support the service team in delivering exceptional dining experiences and achieving operational excellence.
  • Ensure all guests receive courteous, professional and personalised service in accordance with Shangri-La standards.
  • Manage table assignments, reservations and dining room activities to maximise operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily briefings to communicate menu updates, promotions, VIP arrivals and service priorities to the team.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of food and beverage offerings and provide recommendations to guests when required.
  • Monitor service quality and ensure compliance with established restaurant service standards and procedures.
  • Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring service recovery where necessary.
  • Assist in the training, coaching and development of service associates to enhance performance and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience within a hotel, luxury hospitality or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest service and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage operations, restaurant service standards and hospitality practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
