About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Cleaning Operations Manager to oversee and direct daily commercial and industrial cleaning operations across multiple client sites. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for service delivery excellence, contract performance, workforce allocation, quality audits, and workplace safety compliance, while maintaining strong client relationships and operational profitability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Operations & Contract Management: Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day cleaning operations across all assigned client project sites to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and contract specifications are met. Conduct routine site inspections, quality control audits, and risk assessments to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. Serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients, promptly addressing feedback, rectifying service lapses, and leading regular service reviews.
- Manpower & Resource Planning: Manage site staffing levels, shift rosters, overtime controls, and leave schedules to ensure optimal deployment and budget adherence. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate site supervisors, team leaders, and cleaning crew members to foster high performance and morale. Plan and oversee on-the-job training, standard operating procedure (SOP) briefings, and Progressive Wage Model (PWM) skills upgrading courses for ground staff.
- Workplace Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines, NEA environmental standards, and company SOPs across all operating sites. Ensure the correct and safe storage, dilution, handling, and disposal of industrial cleaning chemicals, materials, and machinery. Lead incident reporting, investigate site safety lapses or equipment damage, and implement corrective action plans.
- Procurement & Inventory Control: Monitor the inventory, requisition, and distribution of cleaning chemicals, consumables, tools, and mechanized cleaning equipment. Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for specialized cleaning machinery to minimize downtime.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant supervisory or managerial experience in the environmental cleaning, facilities management, or building services sector. Proven track record in managing multi-site cleaning operations and leading diverse operational teams.
- Qualifications & Certifications: Diploma / Degree in Business, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or related field (equivalent practical industry experience will be considered). Certifications in WSQ Environmental Services, bizSAFE Level 2/3, or Manage Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) will be an added advantage.
- Skills & Competencies: Strong operational planning, crisis management, and manpower scheduling skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage client expectations and lead ground staff effectively. Practical knowledge of modern cleaning machinery, automation, chemical dilution systems, and mechanized cleaning tools. Possessing a valid Singapore Class 3 driving license will be advantageous for multi-site mobilization.
