  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates, commercial proposals and tender submissions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, procurement and project teams to establish project scope, cost and schedule.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contract conditions and project deliverables with customers.
  • Review commercial agreements and highlight contractual risks to management.
  • Monitor tender progress and follow up with customers to secure project awards.
  • Support the commercial handover of awarded contracts to project and operations teams.
  • Manage commercial matters throughout project execution, including variations, additional work and claims.
  • Monitor project costs, billing milestones, outstanding payments and commercial performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, contracts and customer communications.
  • Monitor shipyard market developments, competitor activities and upcoming project opportunities.
  • Attend customer meetings, vessel inspections, industry events and commercial presentations as required.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, business-development updates and commercial reports for management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of commercial, sales, tendering or business-development experience within a shipyard, marine or offshore environment.
  • Experience with shipbuilding, vessel repair, conversion or upgrading projects would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of shipyard operations, project costing and commercial contracts.
  • Able to interpret technical specifications, repair lists and tender documents.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and customer-management skills.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with technical, production and project teams.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial or project-management systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
