About the Role

Our client is an established Singapore-headquartered private equity real estate fund manager with an international presence across key Asian and global markets.

As the Compliance Officer, you will play an integral role in supporting the firm's investment and fund management activities across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with senior management and internal stakeholders to ensure the business operates within applicable regulatory requirements, while providing practical, timely compliance advice to support business activities.

This is a broad-based and hands-on compliance role offering exposure to regulatory compliance, compliance monitoring, enterprise risk management, regulatory reporting and investor-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the firm's compliance framework across Singapore and international jurisdictions, including Cayman Islands, Europe and the US.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the firm's business, policies and processes.
  • Maintain and administer the firm's regulatory compliance calendar, including regulatory filings, reporting and submission requirements.
  • Draft, review and maintain compliance policies, procedures, reports, regulatory submissions and other compliance documentation.
  • Develop and execute risk-based compliance monitoring programmes, identifying potential gaps, breaches and areas requiring remediation.
  • Escalate material compliance issues and breaches to senior management and the Board, where appropriate, and support the implementation of remedial actions.
  • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of the firm's enterprise risk management framework, including risk assessments and reporting.
  • Provide timely and practical compliance advice to the investment, fund management and corporate functions on regulatory and policy matters.
  • Support Board and committee matter, including preparation of compliance reports, papers and updates.
  • Assist with investor due diligence, regulatory questionnaires and compliance-related requests from investors and counterparties.
  • Coordinate and support regulatory audits, inspections, compliance reviews and other regulatory engagements.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes to employees.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and industry developments, particularly those relevant to fund management, private equity and real estate investment.
  • Assist with ad-hoc legal and compliance matters, including compliance technology, systems and process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant compliance experience, preferably within asset management, fund management, private equity, investment management or financial services.
  • Strong working knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements, particularly the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and regulations applicable to fund management activities.
  • Exposure to cross-border regulatory requirements and/or alternative investment structures would be advantageous.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, risk management and policy development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Meticulous, organised and highly attentive to detail, with strong professional integrity.
  • Able to work independently in a lean and fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the organisation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
