Site Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the construction site and ensuring that projects run smoothly. Here’s a detailed list of responsibilities and duties for a Site Manager in Singapore:
- Project Coordination:Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is progressing according to plan. Schedule and supervise daily construction activities and manage subcontractors.
- Site Supervision:Oversee and monitor work on-site to ensure it meets quality standards and follows safety regulations. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
- Safety Management:Ensure that all safety procedures and regulations are adhered to on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct safety meetings and provide safety training to workers.
- Quality Control:Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure work is carried out to the required standards. Address and resolve any quality issues or defects promptly.
- Resource Management:Manage and allocate resources efficiently, including materials, equipment, and labor. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, including work progress, incidents, and any deviations from the plan. Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and other relevant parties.
- Compliance:Ensure that all work complies with local regulations, building codes, and environmental laws in Singapore. Obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction activities.
- Problem-Solving:Identify and address any issues or delays that arise on-site, implementing solutions to keep the project on track. Resolve conflicts between workers or between workers and management.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to address any concerns or changes in project scope. Ensure that client requirements and expectations are met.
- Training and Development:Train and mentor junior site staff and ensure they are aware of safety practices and construction procedures. Promote a positive working environment and encourage teamwork among site personnel.
- Site Managers must also be familiar with local regulations such as those enforced by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC).
