The posting

Pentecost Methodist Church is seeking a Content & Creative Strategist to help people discover, understand and engage with the life of our church — through strong ideas, clear writing and well-designed digital experiences.

The role combines content strategy, creative concepts, communications and digital experience. You will develop ideas and stories that help our members, newcomers and wider community see what God is doing through PMC, and know how to be part of it.

You will work closely with our Media Producer, who specialises in photography and video — you bring the concept and the words, they bring the visuals — as well as with pastors, ministry leaders, staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Creative Concepts

• Develop creative concepts and story angles for campaigns, sermon series, church seasons and outreach events.

• Translate ministry needs and big-picture themes into clear messages, with a defined audience and call-to-action for each.

• Contribute to the communications calendar and help plan which channels and formats best fit each message.

• Write creative briefs, scripts and interview questions for photo and video stories, working with the Media Producer.

• Write and edit content for the website, social media, WhatsApp/Telegram broadcasts, bulletin and announcement slides, adapting each message to its audience.

• Help develop a consistent voice and tone for PMC’s communications.

User Experience & Digital Engagement

• Help improve the website and key digital journeys — e.g. a first-time visitor finding a service and getting connected, or a member signing up to serve.

• Use analytics, feedback and simple user research (surveys, interviews, quick usability tests) to find what is and isn’t working.

• Keep website content accurate, accessible and up to date.

• Help track results such as reach, engagement and sign-ups.

Collaboration & Volunteer Engagement

• Work with pastors, ministry leaders, staff and volunteers to understand their communication needs.

• Support and guide volunteers who help with writing, design and social media.

• Follow PDPA and consent practices, especially for photos and videos involving children.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who has:

• 2–5 years of experience in content strategy, copywriting, communications, digital marketing or UX writing.

• Strong conceptual thinking — able to take a theme or brief and turn it into a fresh, compelling idea.

• Excellent written English, with a portfolio showing concepts and writing across different formats.

• Familiarity with a website CMS, social media tools, Canva and basic analytics.

• A working understanding of UX fundamentals such as user journeys and usability.

• A Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Media or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Figma or design skills, Mandarin, scriptwriting for video, or church or non-profit experience would be an advantage.

Who We Are Looking For

Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone who:

• Is a professing Christian, active in a local church and aligned with the mission and values of PMC.

• Has a heart for people, especially newcomers and those on the edges of church life.

• Is curious about how people experience church, and full of ideas for reaching them.

• Can make complex information simple and engaging.

• Is organised, collaborative and comfortable working with pastors, staff and volunteers.

Why Join Pentecost Methodist Church?

This is an opportunity to use your gifts in content, creativity and digital communications to serve God’s mission — helping people move from first

discovering PMC online to belonging and growing in faith.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a portfolio or 3–5 work samples (with a line on your role in each), together with a short statement (max. 300 words) on

why you would like to serve at Pentecost Methodist Church, to:

Email: [email protected]

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short content exercise.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
