About the Role

We are looking for more than a someone who can make things look good.

With AI’s assistance with layouts, visual references, mock-ups and production, we believe the value of a designer increasingly lies in how you think, what you notice, and what Big ideas you bring to the table.

At Thinkads, we are looking for such designers who understands the difference between:

A nice design only and A campaign idea that people notice, understand and want to interact with.

You should have an interest in brands history, marketing, styling, culture, social media, consumer behaviour and interactive experiences.

You notice what people are wearing, watching, sharing and talking about, and you know how to translate those observations into creative ideas.

Working closely with Client Servicing, the Creative Team and Creative Director, you will help turn a client brief into a campaign idea, and that idea into a complete visual experience across digital, social, print, retail and experiential environments.

We welcome the use of AI as part of the creative process. However, AI should ONLY support your creative thinking, not replace it.

We want someone who can bring their own point of view, imagination and creative judgement to the work.

Key Responsibilities

Concept & Campaign Thinking

Develop original campaign concepts based on client briefs rather than relying solely on given creative directions.

Translate marketing objectives into strong visual ideas, campaign hooks and consumer experiences.

Understand the difference between concept, art direction, design and layout, and be able to contribute across all four.

Think about how consumers will encounter, understand and interact with a campaign in the real world.

Bring observations from fashion, lifestyle, retail, entertainment, culture and social media into the creative process.

Develop visual directions, mood boards, storyboards, key visuals and campaign territories for pitches and proposals.

Participate actively in brainstorming and pitching sessions.

Explain the thinking and rationale behind your creative ideas.

Design & Visualisation

Create strong key visuals rather than simply arranging supplied assets.

Develop graphics, animation, fluent in video works, digital content and campaign adaptations.

Visualise experiential ideas such as pop-ups, installations, retail activations, roadshows and interactive consumer journeys.

Create mock-ups that help clients understand how an idea will come alive in the real world.

Work across branding, advertising, social media, digital, packaging, retail and experiential projects.

Collaborate with 2D, 3D, production and Client Servicing teams to bring concepts into execution.

Motion & Content

Comfortable working across static and motion formats.

Create and edit short-form videos, animations and social content.

Understand how creative needs to behave differently across TikTok, Instagram, digital advertising, OOH and physical experiences.

Have an eye for pacing, storytelling, music, typography and visual impact.

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

Experience with After Effects, Premiere Pro or equivalent motion/video editing tools.

Familiarity with current AI creative tools is highly advantageous.

Photography, videography, short-form video, 3D or experiential visualisation experience will be favourably considered.

Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visual Communication or equivalent experience is advantageous.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
