About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk and Transaction Monitoring professional to join the Risk & Compliance function of an established financial institution in Singapore.

This role offers a broad scope across Operational Risk Management, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Third-Party Risk Management and AML/Transaction Monitoring, providing the opportunity to work closely with multiple business and control functions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Risk & Business Continuity Management

  • Develop, maintain and enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework, policies and procedures in line with regulatory and Head Office requirements.
  • Manage key operational risk areas including Third-Party Risk / Outsourcing Risk, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and operational risk controls.
  • Plan, coordinate and document BCM and business continuity tests, including follow-up and remediation of identified findings.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and risk assessments of third-party arrangements and outsourcing activities.
  • Maintain and enhance Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), risk metrics and monitoring mechanisms to identify and manage emerging operational risks.
  • Maintain the BCM call tree and support ongoing business continuity and operational resilience initiatives.
  • Support regulatory reviews, internal audits and risk assessments relating to operational risk and business continuity.

Transaction Monitoring / AML

  • Review and analyse customer transactions and account activities generated by AML Transaction Monitoring systems to identify potential money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing and other financial crime risks.
  • Conduct detailed Transaction Monitoring investigations, including analysis of customer profiles, transaction patterns, account activities and relevant external information.
  • Assess alerts and determine whether cases should be closed, escalated or subjected to further investigation.
  • Prepare clear and well-supported investigation records, case notes and escalation documentation.
  • Identify emerging AML/CFT risks, money laundering typologies and financial crime trends, and support the enhancement of transaction monitoring controls.
  • Assist with the preparation of information and case summaries for potential Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) filings.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Operations and business teams to resolve transaction monitoring cases and strengthen financial crime controls.

Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in Operational Risk, Transaction Monitoring, AML/CFT, Financial Crime Compliance or related risk and compliance functions.

Experience covering operational risk management, transaction monitoring investigations, AML controls, business continuity management, third-party/outsourcing risk or regulatory compliance will be highly relevant. Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
