Job Overview

ULC Academy is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Director to oversee the overall management, business development and day-to-day operations of the Academy.

The successful candidate will work closely with the management team to develop and execute business strategies, improve operational efficiency, expand student enrolment and partnership channels, and ensure the sustainable growth of the Academy.

This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable managing both strategic planning and daily operational matters in a fast-paced education environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Academy's overall business and operational strategies.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure effective coordination across academic, sales, marketing and administrative functions.
  • Establish annual and quarterly business targets and monitor performance against agreed objectives.
  • Lead business development initiatives to increase student enrolment and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with companies, educational institutions, agencies and other external organisations.
  • Oversee the development and commercialisation of new education programmes and services.
  • Monitor sales performance, marketing activities, student acquisition and customer conversion.
  • Manage operational budgets, expenses and resource allocation to support sustainable business growth.
  • Recruit, manage and evaluate employees, including academic, sales and administrative staff.
  • Develop and improve internal policies, workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor service quality and student satisfaction and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Work with academic staff to ensure programmes are delivered effectively and meet the Academy's quality standards.
  • Ensure that the Academy's operations comply with applicable Singapore laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Prepare regular management reports covering enrolment, revenue, operational performance and business development.
  • Represent the Academy in meetings, negotiations and discussions with business partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Perform other management duties reasonably required for the effective operation and development of the Academy.

Requirements

  • Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business Administration, Management, Education, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably with experience in management, education, training, business development or service-related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing business operations and leading teams.
  • Strong business development, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Good understanding of sales, marketing and customer acquisition.
  • Ability to analyse business performance and translate data into practical action plans.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of business and operational targets.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common business productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the education or private training sector in Singapore.
  • Experience managing an education centre, training centre or similar service-based business.
  • Experience developing B2B partnerships or corporate training programmes.
  • Experience managing international students and multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, CRM systems and student acquisition processes will be an advantage.
