About the Role
Simports Pte. Ltd. is looking for a reliable and commercially minded Shopify E-Commerce Developer to support the development, optimisation and ongoing maintenance of our growing portfolio of e-commerce brands.
We are looking for someone who can go beyond simply designing pages. The ideal candidate should understand how a Shopify store functions as a complete e-commerce system — from storefront design and product management to checkout, apps, SEO, analytics and conversion optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, customise and maintain Shopify stores
- Modify and optimise Shopify themes, including Shopify Liquid
- Create landing pages, collection pages and product pages
- Upload and organise products, variants, collections, images and descriptions
- Configure navigation, menus, filters and search
- Install, configure and troubleshoot Shopify apps
- Configure payment, shipping and checkout-related settings
- Improve mobile responsiveness and website speed
- Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues
- Maintain and update website content
- Assist with domain, DNS and Shopify-related integrations
- Implement basic on-page SEO
- Configure Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and other tracking tools where required
- Support email marketing and CRM integrations
- Assist with marketplace or multi-vendor functionality where required
- Improve customer journey and conversion rates
- Perform regular website checks, backups and maintenance
- Work with our marketing, design and business teams to implement new campaigns and product launches
Skills We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Practical experience developing and maintaining Shopify stores
- Good knowledge of Shopify themes and Liquid
- HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript
- Strong understanding of mobile-first e-commerce design
- Experience configuring Shopify apps and integrations
- Ability to troubleshoot independently
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Shopify Marketplace / Multi-Vendor experience
- Shopify Markets / international e-commerce experience
- SEO knowledge
- Google Analytics / GA4
- Meta Pixel and advertising integrations
- Klaviyo or Shopify Email
- Canva, Figma or other design tools
- Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
- Experience with beauty, fashion, healthcare or premium consumer brands
What We Value
We are particularly interested in someone who:
- Thinks commercially, not just technically
- Can suggest improvements instead of waiting for instructions
- Understands what makes customers trust and purchase from an online store
- Can manage several Shopify websites efficiently
- Is responsive when urgent website issues occur
- Is interested in developing a longer-term working relationship
Engagement
This is initially a part-time / freelance position, with the potential for longer-term involvement as our e-commerce portfolio grows.
Working hours can be flexible, but timely communication and dependable delivery are important.
How to Apply
Please send:
- A brief introduction
- Your Shopify experience
- Links to 2–5 Shopify stores you personally developed or maintained
- Your specific contribution to each website
- Your hourly rate and/or expected monthly retainer
- Your weekly availability
- Your location and time zone
Important: Please do not send only a general web-development portfolio. We would specifically like to review your previous Shopify work.
