Job Title: Pre-Nursery Teacher (Childcare)

Job Description

An English Teacher is responsible for nurturing and educating children typically aged 3 - 4 years, supporting their early development in a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities (sensory play, storytelling, music, art, basic motor skills).
  • Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress and maintain developmental records.
  • Guide children in daily routines (feeding, toileting, hygiene, nap time).
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding child progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques.

Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) or equivalent is a must.
  • First Aid & CPR certification (Good to have, but not a must).

Experience:

  • Prior experience working with 2-4 years old (preferred).
  • Fresh graduates with relevant Diploma may also apply.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Passion for working with young children.
  • Patience, empathy, and nurturing attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity in lesson planning and classroom engagement.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and handle challenging behaviors calmly.
  • Observational and assessment skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Physically fit and energetic (role involves active engagement).
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
  • Background check clearance (if required by local regulations).

Optional / Preferred Qualities

  • Knowledge of early childhood frameworks EYDF & NEL.
  • Bilingual abilities (useful in communication with parents).
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and communication.
