The posting

About the role

Sunnystep is looking for a hands-on Ecommerce Growth Manager to own and grow profitable online sales across our website and marketplaces.

You will turn customer insights and data into better acquisition, conversion and repeat purchase. You will also build AI-enabled workflows that help a lean team execute faster and better. This is a commercial ownership role—not just campaign coordination, store administration or reporting.

Key responsibilities

Own ecommerce sales and profitability

  • Own ecommerce sales targets and develop channel growth plans with clear priorities, budgets and measurable outcomes.
  • Track net sales and contribution margin, accounting for advertising, promotions, platform fees, returns and fulfilment costs.
  • Diagnose performance gaps and take corrective action rather than simply report results.
  • Coordinate with inventory, operations and customer service to ensure growth plans are deliverable.

Improve conversion and customer retention

  • Improve product pages, landing pages, navigation, merchandising and checkout.
  • Run structured experiments on offers, bundles, content and customer journeys.
  • Build lifecycle campaigns covering welcome, abandoned checkout, post-purchase and reactivation.
  • Use customer behaviour, reviews and service feedback to identify and remove purchase barriers.

Drive effective acquisition and marketplace growth

  • Partner with marketing and creative colleagues on campaigns that bring qualified traffic and profitable customers.
  • Evaluate acquisition costs, conversion, repeat purchase and campaign incrementality—not platform-reported ROAS alone.
  • Own marketplace trading plans, listing quality, promotions and channel performance.
  • Protect brand positioning and margin rather than rely on continual discounting.

Put AI into everyday execution

  • Build and improve AI-assisted workflows for analysis, customer insight, content testing, merchandising, reporting and campaign operations.
  • Automate repetitive work while retaining human review for customer-facing content and material business decisions.
  • Measure the impact of AI through time saved, faster experimentation, better quality and commercial results.
  • Verify outputs, protect customer data and document workflows so others can reuse them.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated ownership of ecommerce sales targets and measurable, profitable growth.
  • Hands-on experience with a direct-to-consumer website and/or major ecommerce marketplaces.
  • Strong understanding of conversion optimisation, digital acquisition, retention, merchandising and channel economics.
  • Ability to work with ecommerce platforms, analytics and CRM tools, and translate data into clear decisions.
  • Practical experience using AI and automation in real workflows; you should be able to explain what you built, how you verified it and what improved.
  • Strong execution, prioritisation and cross-functional communication.
  • Willingness to work directly in the tools, test ideas quickly and take accountability for outcomes.

Experience in footwear, fashion, lifestyle or consumer retail is an advantage. Evidence of impact matters more than a particular degree or job title.

What success looks like

  • Sustainable growth in ecommerce net sales and contribution margin.
  • Improved conversion and repeat purchase, with disciplined acquisition costs.
  • A reliable experiment-and-review cadence that scales effective initiatives and stops weak ones.
  • Reusable AI workflows that reduce manual effort without compromising quality or customer experience.

Your application

Please include examples of:

  1. An ecommerce business or channel you grew: baseline, result, timeframe and your specific contribution.
  2. A growth experiment you ran, including what did not work and what you changed. An AI-enabled workflow you implemented and its measurable impact.
  3. Use anonymised examples where needed; do not share confidential employer or customer information.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
