The posting

Our client is an established engineering and technical solutions company supporting complex projects within the high-technology and industrial sectors. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team and lead engineering project delivery. They are located in the East area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the engineering/design team across multiple projects and ensure technical deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards and timelines.
  • Plan manpower, workload and engineering priorities according to project schedules, procurement needs and construction requirements.
  • Establish engineering approaches and review client specifications, tender documents and technical requirements to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate across HVAC, cleanroom, mechanical, process utilities, piping, electrical, controls, instrumentation and building/facility systems.
  • Check and approve engineering calculations, P&IDs, layouts, drawings, specifications, equipment selections, datasheets and technical submissions.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards and project requirements while identifying technical risks, design gaps and potential clashes early.
  • Work with commercial and business development teams on tender reviews, preliminary designs, technical proposals, scope clarifications, RFIs and technical evaluations.
  • Partner with Project Managers and site teams to manage engineering deliverables, design changes, construction issues, testing, commissioning and project handover.
  • Review technical submissions, evaluate proposed equipment and solutions, and resolve engineering matters with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and technical staff, allocate responsibilities, identify training needs and strengthen overall engineering capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain engineering procedures, design standards, calculation methods, templates and checking processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Promote design optimisation, value engineering, cost efficiency, lessons learned and the use of digital engineering tools to improve project delivery.
  • Perform any relevant engineering improvement/initiatives duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Min Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Min 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in several areas such as HVAC, cleanroom systems, ventilation, water systems or facility engineering, etc
  • Skills in P&IDs, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, layouts, drawings and technical submissions will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with BMS/BAS, SCADA, controls, instrumentation and system integration will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Navisworks, Microsoft Project or relevant engineering software will be an advantage.
  • Strong technical judgement, problem-solving and commercial awareness, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Good leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
