About the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC)

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is the national sports association for disability sport in Singapore. As a registered charity and Institution of aPublic Character (IPC), SDSC develops and advances disability sport from grassroots participation through to high performance and international representation.

We believe sport should be accessible, enjoyable and meaningful for everyone. Through sport, we empower persons with disabilities to participate, build confidence, develop friendships and achieve their potential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a people-oriented, energetic and resourceful programme builder to join our Community Programmes team.

Your primary portfolio will be PlayTogether, SDSC's kids club initiative for children with disabilities and their families. You will lead the planning, development and delivery of this weekend programme— creating fun, inclusive opportunities for children to play, move, make friends and grow in confidence.

Your secondary portfolio will include volunteer management and/or supporting other community programmes such as SwimTogether, depending on your strengths and the needs of the team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being around people and is comfortable turning ideas into action. You may be planning a programme one day, speaking with a parent the next, recruiting volunteers, coordinating coaches and then rolling up your sleeves to make sure everything runs smoothly on the ground.

SDSC is a dynamic organisation, and our programmes and priorities evolve over time. While PlayTogether will be the primary portfolio for this role, responsibilities may be adjusted or rotated from time to time based on organisational needs, programme priorities and the individual's strengths and development. The roleholder may therefore have opportunities to support or take on other community programmes and initiatives across SDSC.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

PlayTogether– Programme Lead

  • Plan and deliver PlayTogether sessions, including programme calendar, activities, manpower, equipment, venues, communications and on-site operations.
  • Develop engaging activities that encourage participation, physical activity, social connection and confidence among children with different abilities.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and caregivers and use their feedback to improve the programme.
  • Coordinate coaches, instructors, volunteers and partners to deliver quality sessions.
  • Identify new activities, partnerships and resources to grow the programme.
  • Manage programme budgets, resources and logistics responsibly.
  • Track participation, feedback and outcomes and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure appropriate safety, safeguarding and operational standards are maintained.

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, onboard, brief and engage volunteers for PlayTogether and other community programmes.
  • Build relationships with schools, tertiary institutions, companies and community groups as volunteer sources.
  • Match volunteers to suitable roles and create a positive experience that encourages them to return.
  • Coordinate volunteer training, communication and recognition activities.

Other Community Programmes

  • Support other SDSC initiatives such as SwimTogether, Parasport360 and future participation programmes.
  • Assist with programme planning, participant engagement, stakeholder coordination, logistics, communications and on-the-ground delivery.
  • Build relationships with coaches, community partners and other stakeholders to expand programme reach and impact.

Administration& Reporting

  • Maintain accurate participant, volunteer and programme records.
  • Prepare programme plans, schedules, budgets, reports and presentations.
  • Gather feedback and translate lessons learnt into practical improvements.
  • Support other team projects and initiatives as required.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for the right personality as much as the right experience.

You are someone who:

  • Loves people and naturally connects with children, families, volunteers and partners.
  • Brings positive energy and enjoys creating a fun and welcoming environment.
  • Has a heart to serve and genuinely cares about children with disabilities and their families.
  • Is proactive and resourceful— when something does not work, you look for ways to make it work.
  • Is organised and can turn ideas into practical plans, timelines and resources.
  • Is adaptable and able to think on your feet when things change.
  • Enjoys sport and physical activity, or is interested in learning more about disability sport.
  • Believes in inclusion and wants to make a meaningful difference through sport.

You do not need extensive experience in disability sport. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn and genuine desire to serve the community.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Sports Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, Education, Events, Business or a related field.
  • At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in community programmes, youth programmes, sports, events, education, volunteering or related areas. Candidates with strong relevant experience but different academic backgrounds are welcome.
  • Experience working with children, families, persons with disabilities or volunteers is an advantage.
  • Experience in sports, recreation or physical activity is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, planning and coordination skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working on weekends as PlayTogether is primarily a weekend programme.

Working Arrangement

As PlayTogether is a weekend programme, the role will involve regular weekend work. SDSC will provide a flexible working arrangement / flexi-day arrangement, with a weekday off or adjusted working arrangement in lieu of weekend programme duties, subject to operational requirements.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a programme coordination role.

You will help create opportunities for children with disabilities to play, connect and grow —and create meaningful experiences for their families and the volunteers who support them.

If you are energetic, people-oriented, resourceful and passionate about inclusion, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
