Established as the Singapore Freight Forwarders Association in 1973, the association was renamed Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) in 1999 to reflect the growth and wide-ranging activities of its members. Today, SLA has more than 700 members, ranging from logistics enterprises to emerging players across the wider logistics ecosystem. The association stays anchored in its mission to sustain a vibrant community through active industry participation and collaborations with both local and international partners.

Offering a wide range of targeted programmes and initiatives to help enterprises be future ready, SLA also constantly reviews and explores forward-looking initiatives to help logistics enterprises implement business transformation improvements to emerge stronger and ahead of competition. In alignment with global sustainability goals, SLA supports the adoption of sustainable practices by encouraging members to explore green solutions that contribute to a more environmentally friendly sector.

To nurture a pipeline of global and future ready logistics talents for the industry, The Logistics Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary training arm of SLA was incorporated in 2010 to provide human capital and skills development courses to empower and deepen the skills of the workforce for the logistics sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Services and Governance

  • Support day-to-day finance and accounting matters, including invoicing, payments, financial records, budgeting and audit preparation.
  • Administer HR matters, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee benefits, staff records and training.
  • Support governance requirements, including procurement, policy compliance, documentation and internal reporting.
  • Liaise with accountants, auditors, consultants and service providers on operational and regulatory matters.

Membership, Events and Administration

  • Support membership administration and database maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate membership, event and administrative records, and prepare reports for management.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, association programmes and events.
  • Support event registration, participant enquiries, attendance tracking, payment follow-up and preparation of event materials.
  • Coordinate with venues, vendors, speakers, sponsors and participants on administrative and logistical arrangements.
  • Assist with event set-up, on-site registration, programme coordination and post-event follow-up.
  • Perform other general administrative duties as assigned.

Digitalisation and Process Automation

  • Review manual and repetitive work processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Develop and maintain simple automated workflows, forms, trackers and reports using Google Workspace or other approved tools.
  • Document new processes and guide staff on their use.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Human Resources, Business Information Systems or a related field.
  • Entry-level candidates and fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, low-code tools, data reporting or Google Apps Script would be an advantage.
  • Organised, meticulous and comfortable handling different areas of work.
  • Able to handle confidential information responsibly.
