The posting

This role is ideal for a fashion designer based in Singapore with a keen interest in children's wear. You must love to design prints to suit all ages for children.

Skills and experience:

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop: Strong technical skills in these design tools are essential for creating professional, high-quality designs, including prints, patterns, and detailed technical drawings.
  • Ability to Create and Draw CADs: You should be able to produce clean and precise CAD drawings for garment details, technical specifications, and accurate manufacturing instructions.
  • Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design: A formal qualification in Fashion Design is required.
  • Strong Print Design Skills: You will be responsible for creating original prints that resonate with children’s fashion, ensuring that each design is age-appropriate, playful, and unique.
  • Independent Time Management: You must be able to organise and prioritise multiple design projects, working to tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creativity and attention to detail.
  • Multitasking and Collection Management: The role requires handling multiple collections at once, including seasonal and licensed collections, each with specific design requirements and timelines.
  • Fashion Design Experience: At least 3 years experience in fashion design, particularly in children's wear. Familiarity with the specific requirements of designing for kids, including comfort, durability, and aesthetics, is advantageous.
  • Collaboration and Communication: While the role requires independence, you must also be able to effectively collaborate with other team members, including merchandisers, product developers, and suppliers. Clear communication and alignment on design visions are key.

Responsibilities

  • Concept Development: As a fashion designer, you'll be responsible for developing comprehensive design concepts for our children’s collections, ensuring they align with the brand’s ethos and seasonal trends.
  • Print Design Creation: A core aspect of the role will be designing prints that appeal to different age groups within the children's wear market. These prints should capture the essence of fun and creativity while being suitable for various garment types (e.g., dresses, shirts, pants, and accessories).
  • Product Line Development: You’ll take the lead in developing new product lines, from initial concept through to finished designs, working with the team to bring these ideas to life.
  • Designing Licensed Products: You will contribute to the design and development of licensed products for both children and their families, ensuring that designs respect licensing guidelines while also adding a creative, unique spin.
  • Preparing CADs and Technical Specifications: Develop and submit CADs for all new designs, including comprehensive technical specifications that are clear for manufacturers to follow. This will also include garment construction details, fabric sourcing, and colour schemes.
  • Sampling and Revisions: Oversee the sampling process, ensuring that prototypes match your designs. Make any necessary adjustments to fit, style, and quality before final approval.
  • Collaboration with Team: Beyond your specific design duties, you’ll collaborate with the marketing and retail teams as necessary to ensure design consistency across all product ranges, helping bring a cohesive brand vision to life across both online and in-store experiences.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
