The Role

As a Finance Executive at Refract Technologies, you’ll take charge of the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions across multiple subsidiaries. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll also support month-end and year-end closing of entity books, preparation of group consolidation, management reports, and financial statements for audit purposes. Your responsibilities will also encompass tax management, risk assessment, budgeting, cash flow management, and revenue analysis.

The ideal candidate would be a detail-oriented and diligent individual, looking to grow their own experience in the financial functions in a set of startups. If this sounds like you, we’d love to have a conversation!

Please note that this is a 6-month contract position to cover maternity leave, renewable based on performance. The role is open only to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. We regret that applications from non-Singaporean/PR candidates will not be considered.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain accurate and organised financial records, including ledger entries, receipts, invoices, and supporting documentation, to ensure the integrity and completeness of the company’s financial data.
  • Record receivables and payables transactions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable tax regulations (e.g., GST, withholding tax, corporate tax).
  • Perform General Ledger entries and month-end closing activities, such as depreciation, amortization of prepayments, and accruals. Prepare month-end schedules and highlight discrepancies requiring Management attention.
  • Manage and optimise the company’s cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and investments. Prepare and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Review staff claims and ensures reimbursements are made in compliance with company policies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls related to financial processes and systems, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
  • Prepare audit schedules and collaborate with auditors to address queries, ensuring timely completion and signing of audited financial statements.
  • Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
  • Manage payment processes, including vendor payments and employee reimbursements, and oversee daily banking matters.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Secretary on statutory filings, governance documentation, and other company-related compliance matters.
  • Prepare GST reports and returns, ensuring compliance with local and overseas tax regulations.
  • Prepare tax schedules, liaise with tax agents to resolve queries, and ensure timely filing and payment of taxes.
  • File and pay withholding tax to relevant local or overseas tax authorities as required.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of company contracts, fixed assets, and other financial records to support operational efficiency.
  • Provide support for various finance-related tasks and assist colleagues when necessary.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in finance or accounting.
  • Audit experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience using Xero accounting software.
