Job Summary

Lead the Finance/Accounting department to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manage financial reporting, budgeting, audit processes, and control accounts receivable to support the company’s financial health and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Finance and Accounting department to ensure effective financial management and compliance
  • Manage accounts to meet requirements set by the Principal and Local Authorities
  • Monitor and analyze monthly financial statements, delivering timely reports to management and headquarters
  • Prepare annual budgets and conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures to inform decision-making
  • Oversee the audit process of annual financial statements and corporate tax filings, ensuring timely submission to ACRA and IRAS
  • Control accounts receivable to minimize risk of bad debts and maintain healthy cash flow
  • Monitor principal revenue collections and ensure timely remittance to the principal
  • Conduct investment assessments and evaluate proposals to support strategic financial decisions
  • Perform additional finance-related tasks as directed by management and headquarters

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Finance/Accounting experience in a shipping industry headquarters
  • Relevant management experience within the shipping industry

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Proficiency in reading and writing traditional Chinese characters (moved to Preferred to avoid racial/ethnic bias; helpful but not essential for core duties)
