Job Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the overall pastoral care, discipline, attendance, well-being, and development of students within the assigned form class.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages good learning habits, responsibility, respect, and positive behaviour.
- Monitor students’ attendance, punctuality, conduct, academic progress, and general well-being, and follow up on concerns where necessary.
- Act as the main point of contact between the college, students, parents, and subject teachers regarding students’ academic progress, behaviour, attendance, and welfare.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, parent communication, disciplinary matters, and other relevant documentation.
- Work closely with subject teachers and academic staff to identify students who require additional academic, behavioural, or pastoral support.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress, attendance, behaviour, and other school-related matters.
- Conduct regular form/class meetings and student check-ins to address class matters and support students’ personal development.
- Support the implementation of college rules, policies, and procedures, including handling minor disciplinary matters appropriately.
- Assist in organising and supervising orientations, examinations, school events, educational activities, field trips, and other student programmes.
- Support new students in settling into the college and encourage participation in school activities and programmes.
- Work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams and perform other student-related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Education, Teaching, Psychology, Counselling, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience as a Form Teacher, Class Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, Teacher, or in a similar student-facing role will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, approachable, responsible, and able to manage student behaviour professionally.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple student-related matters effectively.
- Able to handle parent enquiries and concerns professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Mandarin/Chinese will be an advantage.
- Experience in an international school, private education institution, college, or international education environment will be an advantage.
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in student development, pastoral care, and creating a positive learning environment.
