The posting

Lianhe Zaobao (LHZB) is Singapore’s leading Chinese-language news publication in Singapore. As LHZB continues to strengthen its offerings and to extend ourreach to English-speaking audiences, we are looking for an Editorial Assistantwho will be responsible for editorial production support by making sure stories move smoothly from assignment through editing to publication, while maintaining accuracy, consistency and presentation.

KeyResponsibilities

● Work with the AI-translated English articles and ensure formatting accuracy.

● Replace text, headlines, image captions and other content asrequired.

● Upload and layout article-related attachments, includingimages, videos, and other media files via the content management system, to make basic layout and formatting adjustments.

● Promptly report any obvious errors, missing information, orissues that cannot be determined to the editor in charge.

● Assist with other basic English-language content maintenance tasks.

● Help craft social media-relevant creatives

This is a freelance role .

Requirements

● Minimum Polytechnic Diploma or GCE A-Level (JC) qualification. Prior experience in copyediting is a plus.

● Good proficiency in written English and basic proficiency in written Chinese. Ability to navigate confidently and accurately across both languages.

● An eye for detail, with the ability to spot subtle formatting errors.

● Able to work independently while connecting with people and collaborate as a team in a fast-paced environment.

● 5-day work week on roster [inclusive of 1 day during the weekend]; working hours 15:00 to 00:00 (GMT+8 / Singapore Time)

● Office-based role; freelancer is required to work on-site.
