Full Stack Developer (React JS & Java)

About the role

You will join an agile product team to design, build and maintain secure, high-availability web applications used by millions of users.

The role covers the full stack: responsive front ends in React JS and robust back-end services in Java and Spring Boot, deployed on cloud infrastructure under government security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain end-to-end web applications using React JS (front end) and Java / Spring Boot (back end).
  • Build reusable, accessible and responsive UI components, following government digital service and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, including integration with internal and external government systems.
  • Design and optimise relational database schemas and queries (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jest, React Testing Library).
  • Apply secure coding practices and remediate findings from code scans, VAPT and security reviews.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments on cloud (AWS / Government Commercial Cloud).
  • Work in Agile/Scrum teams with product owners, business analysts, UX designers and QA, take part in sprint planning, code reviews and demos.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, support UAT and releases, and prepare technical documentation.

Requirements

Must have

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on full stack development experience.
  • Strong front-end skills in React JS, JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and state management (Redux or Context API).
  • Strong back-end skills in Java 11+ and Spring Boot, building RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Solid SQL and relational database experience.
  • Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar) and automated testing.
  • Understanding of secure coding (OWASP Top 10) and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO).
  • Experience delivering in Agile/Scrum teams.

Good to have

  • Prior experience on Singapore public sector or GovTech projects, including IM8 compliance.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with messaging or caching tools (Kafka, Redis) and API gateways.
