The Role

FOZL Private Client Services is seeking a Fund Accountant / Senior Fund Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting and administration of investment funds and investment-holding structures. The portfolio may include single family office structures, VCCs and their sub-funds, private credit funds, private equity and venture capital funds, transaction-intensive investment portfolios, and investment holding companies.

The role sits within a lean, collaborative team led by the Director. The candidate will work closely with the Senior Fund Accountant and colleagues across other FOZL Group service lines to deliver assigned accounting and fund-administration work accurately and on time. Senior-level candidates will manage selected client portfolios, client communications, and more complex assignments with limited supervision. The role offers direct exposure to single family office structures, VCCs, private credit, private equity and venture capital funds, and related operational and regulatory work.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fund accounting and operations

· Maintain full sets of accounts and supporting schedules for investment funds, VCCs and sub-funds, family offices, and investment holding companies.

· Prepare bank, cash, investment, and portfolio reconciliations, and record investment transactions, income, expenses, accruals, and cash movements.

· Use professional fund accounting software and advanced Excel functions to process high-volume transaction data, perform reconciliations, investigate exceptions, and maintain complete supporting records and audit trails.

· Prepare NAV calculations and valuation support schedules for listed securities, private credit positions, unlisted investments, and other fund assets in accordance with the applicable valuation policy, using appropriate pricing sources, approved valuation inputs, and reliable supporting documents. Investigate pricing exceptions and escalate material valuation matters for review or approval. Calculate management fees, performance fees, and other fund expenses where applicable.

· Process and monitor capital calls and distributions, and maintain accurate investor and transaction records.

· Prepare periodic management accounts, investor reporting schedules, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards, and support the review and audit process.

2. Client service and delivery

· Manage assigned tasks, work plans, deliverables, and reporting deadlines, and communicate with clients on accounting and fund-administration matters. Senior-level candidates will be expected to take primary responsibility for selected client portfolios.

· Coordinate with relevant FOZL Group teams and external parties, including banks, brokers, custodians, investment managers, auditors, tax advisers, and corporate secretaries, to resolve issues and complete deliverables on time.

3. Compliance and professional coordination

· Support the onboarding of new funds, entities, clients, and investors, including accounting setup, opening balances, portfolio data, fee terms, and reporting calendars. Maintain the required AML/KYC records and coordinate with the relevant compliance team.

· Work with relevant FOZL Group teams and external advisers to prepare accounting information and supporting documents for applicable regulatory submissions and VCC or entity-related matters.

· Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documents for tax compliance and advisory work, and coordinate with the relevant FOZL Group or external tax professionals.

4. Quality control and process improvement

· Prepare assigned work accurately, perform first-level checks, investigate discrepancies, and maintain supporting schedules and audit trails for review by the Senior Fund Accountant or Director.

· Address review comments promptly, escalate significant accounting, operational, or compliance matters, and help improve working papers, templates, and internal controls.

Essential Requirements:

· Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or relevant professional accounting studies or qualifications.

· At least two years of relevant experience in fund administration, fund management, family office or investment-holding structures, or accounting and audit work for investment funds. Senior Fund Accountant candidates will normally have at least four years of relevant experience and the ability to independently manage assigned client portfolios and complex deliverables.

· Sound accounting fundamentals and practical ability to manage full sets of accounts, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules.

· Working knowledge of investment-fund operations and the ability to take responsibility for assigned deliverables and deadlines.

· Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and reconciliation, with experience using professional fund accounting software or advanced Excel-based accounting tools.

· Ability to collaborate effectively in a lean, cross-functional team and support colleagues when required.

· Strong attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, client-service, and stakeholder-management skills.

· Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to communicate with clients who use either language on accounting and fund-administration matters.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

· Completed or ongoing ACCA, CA, CPA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.

· Experience with one or more of the following: VCCs and sub-funds, private equity or venture capital funds, family offices, or investment holding companies.

· Hands-on experience with NAV calculations, valuation support, management and performance fee calculations, capital calls, distributions, and investor records.

· Experience supporting MAS submissions, AML/KYC processes, audits, or corporate secretarial coordination.

· Exposure to Singapore corporate tax, GST, or fund-related tax matters is advantageous but not mandatory.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
