The posting

Responsibilities

1. Support HQ and regional publishing teams by conducting qualitative and quantitative user research across Southeast Asia. Translate research findings into actionable insights that support publishing and product decisions.

2. Deepen the understanding of local markets and players for both HQ business teams and the user research team, providing audience- and market-level insights from time to time.

3. Collaborate cross-functionally with data analytics, user operations, and other teams to integrate resources and drive the implementation of research findings.

4. Organize and execute offline qualitative research projects across the region, controlling the research process and execution quality — including research design, plan delivery, and handling contingencies during fieldwork.

5. Expand existing recruitment channels, integrate player contact information both inside and outside the game, and optimize existing recruitment mechanisms.

6. Maintain and expand overseas vendor resources.

Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree or above in Psychology, Social Science, Marketing, or a related field.

2. Knowledge in user research / market research, having independently led or deeply contributed to end-to-end qualitative and quantitative projects; experience in games or internet-related categories is a plus.

3. Strong qualitative interviewing skills — able to independently design discussion guides, moderate sessions, and probe deeply; also proficient in quantitative methods such as surveys and data analysis.

4. Strong execution ability and self-drive — able to proactively push research execution through to delivery and independently resolve issues along the way, without relying on frequent instruction or supervision.

5. Hands-on experience and ability in applying AI to real work — e.g., using AI for interview transcription and coding, qualitative data analysis, report drafting, and translation — and continuously explores AI applications across the research workflow.

6. Good communication skills, able to work with business stakeholders independently, align on needs, and drive the implementation of research results.

7. Proficient in both Mandarin and English. Mandarin is required for daily communication, while English is used for interviews and cross-functional collaboration. Able to prepare reports and documentation in either Chinese or English. Strongly preferred: Proficiency in at least one Southeast Asian language (Indonesian, Malay, or Filipino/Tagalog), with the ability to independently conduct qualitative interviews in that language.

8. Passionate about games with hands-on gaming experience, especially MOBA titles. Able to understand player behavior from both a researcher and player perspective.

9. Comfortable with regular business travel across Southeast Asia.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
