I am looking for a decisive and strategic Risk Controller to safeguard the agricultural commodities trading portfolio. In this senior role, you will architect the margin policies, shape the risk culture, and serve as the critical line of defense for the financial health in volatile markets.

If you are an expert in agricultural commodity credit risk who thrives at the intersection of complex risk modeling, trading floor collaboration, and client negotiation, we want you to join the team.

  • Develop, enforce, and continuously refine the margin and credit risk policies to align with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate counterparty creditworthiness, set rigorous credit limits, and monitor exposure across the margin lending and trading activities.
  • Build, validate, and utilize advanced risk models.
  • Conduct portfolio-level stress testing to anticipate concentration risks and adverse market scenarios before they impact the bottom line.
  • Oversee daily margin account health, swiftly identifying violations. Lead the margin call process, taking decisive action on non-compliance.
  • Partner directly with trading desks to design risk mitigation strategies and targeted hedging techniques that protect the portfolio.
  • Act as the face of risk for counterparties and clients, negotiating credit terms, explaining margin policies, and resolving credit inquiries.
  • Work seamlessly with Market Risk, Operational Risk, and Trading/Ops teams to ensure trade settlements are smooth and holistic risk approach is impenetrable.

skills and experience required

  • 10+ years of deep, specialized experience in agricultural commodity credit risk management, credit assessment, and margin trading.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a closely related field. (FRM or CFA designations are a strong plus). Exceptional grasp of financial markets, margin trading mechanics, statistical analysis, and advanced risk modeling.

  • The ability to hold your own on a fast-paced trading floor, clearly articulate complex risk concepts to non-risk stakeholders, and negotiate firmly but fairly with clients.
