JOB DESCRIPTION – GOWNROOM ASSISTANT

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Gownroom Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and proper housekeeping of the gownroom in accordance with the required cleaning procedures and standards.

1. Floor Cleaning and Housekeeping

  • Place “Cleaning in Progress” and “Wet Floor” signboards at the entrance before commencing cleaning activities.
  • Vacuum the floor thoroughly to remove loose dust and debris.
  • Vacuum the air vents and shoe racks to remove accumulated dust and debris.
  • Mop the floor using a lint-free mop and Staticide solution.
  • Clean one side of the floor at a time while keeping the opposite side open as a safe walking path.
  • Allow the cleaned section to dry completely before proceeding to mop the remaining section.
  • Upon completion, ensure the entire floor is completely dry before removing the signboards.
  • Clean, return and properly store all cleaning equipment after use.

2. Cleaning of Surfaces and Touch Points

  • Wipe benches, shoe racks and other frequently touched surfaces using cleanroom wipes dampened with DI Water with 5% IPA.
  • Attach a cleanroom wipe securely to the Flexi Clamp and dampen it with DI Water with 5% IPA.
  • Clean the following areas using top-to-bottom, one-directional wiping strokes: Top shelves Shoe racks Glass doors Walls Other designated surfaces

3. Restocking of Consumables

Ensure that gownroom consumable items are adequately stocked and replenished when required, including:

  • Gloves
  • Face masks
  • Hairnets
  • Beard masks
  • Cone cups

4. Sticky Mat Maintenance

  • Check the sticky mat regularly and peel off the used/dirty layer every hour or whenever the surface becomes dirty.
  • Ensure the sticky mat remains clean and effective for maintaining gownroom hygiene.

5. Waste Disposal

  • Clear all rubbish and waste from the gownroom.
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with the approved waste disposal procedures.
  • Ensure waste bins and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy.

6. General Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the gownroom at all times.
  • Follow all applicable cleanroom cleaning procedures, safety requirements and site-specific instructions.
  • Use cleaning chemicals, equipment and materials in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
  • Report any defects, damage, abnormal conditions or cleaning-related issues to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Carry out any other related housekeeping or cleaning duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
