Group Procurement Director Oatside · Singapore (Group HQ) · Full-time
About Oatside Oatside is Asia's #1 oat milk brand, headquartered in Singapore and sold across 19 markets. We own and operate our manufacturing in Chonburi, Thailand and in Indonesia, with further capacity expansion underway. We are a fast-scaling, founder-led business moving toward institutional-grade governance, and procurement is one of the biggest levers we have on margin, supply security and quality.
The role The Group Procurement Director owns all third-party spend across the group — direct materials, packaging, indirect and capex — and leads our procurement teams in Indonesia and Thailand from Singapore. You will take a centre-led procurement model that has been designed and make it real: consistent category strategies, one supplier base managed to group standards, hard savings that show up in the P&L, and supply continuity for a business that cannot afford a line to stop.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will personally lead the largest categories and the most important supplier relationships while building the capability of the local teams.
Reports to: CEO Direct reports: Country procurement leads procurement teams across Indonesia and Thailand covering all direct and indirect spends and procurement operations. Location: Singapore, with regular travel to Thailand and Indonesia (~30–40%)
What you'll do
Strategy and governance
- Own the group procurement strategy, operating model and annual plan; run the centre-led model with clear splits between group categories and local buying.
- Own the spend taxonomy, procurement policy, delegation of authority and sourcing governance — fit for a company preparing for public-market scrutiny.
- Report procurement performance (savings, cost avoidance, supplier OTIF, quality, working capital) to the leadership team monthly.
Category and supplier management
- Lead sourcing for the critical direct categories: oats and oat ingredients, packaging (aseptic carton, PET, closures, secondary), other ingredients and co-packing.
- Lead indirect and capex procurement, including major equipment purchases and construction/projects for capacity expansion.
- Build multi-year category strategies with a clear view of cost drivers, market dynamics, dual-sourcing and supply risk.
- Own strategic supplier relationships: contracts, performance management, quality issues, disputes and exits. Structure supply agreements with proper quality specifications, remedies and termination rights.
- Drive commodity and FX risk management for key inputs in partnership with Finance.
Team and capability
- Lead, develop and align the Thailand and Indonesia procurement teams; set common ways of working, KPIs and career paths.
- Build capability in negotiation, should-cost analysis, contracting and supplier quality.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing & Engineering, Quality, R&D, Finance and Commercial so procurement is embedded early in NPD, capex and budget decisions.
Systems and process
- Drive procure-to-pay discipline in NetSuite: PO compliance, supplier master data, contract repository, spend visibility.
- Introduce fit-for-purpose tools for sourcing events, supplier scorecards and savings tracking.
What we're looking for
- 10+ years in procurement, with at least 5 years leading a multi-country procurement function in food & beverage or FMCG manufacturing.
- Deep direct-materials experience — ingredients (grains/dairy alternatives a strong plus) and packaging, ideally including aseptic/Tetra Pak and PET.
- Track record of building or transforming a procurement function in a scale-up or post-acquisition environment, not just running a mature one.
- Strong commercial and contracting skills; comfortable leading complex negotiations and handling supplier disputes and quality failures.
- Capex and project procurement experience (equipment, construction, greenfield/brownfield builds).
- Experience operating in Southeast Asia, especially Thailand and Indonesia; understands local supplier markets, regulatory and import dynamics.
- Analytically rigorous — should-cost modelling, total cost of ownership, commodity market analysis.
- Comfortable with ERP-driven P2P processes (NetSuite a plus).
- Senior leadership presence: able to work directly with the CEO and leadership team, and to lead remotely across cultures.
- Fluent English; Thai or Bahasa Indonesia an advantage.
- Willing to travel regularly to our plants.
What success looks like in 18 months
- Group procurement operating model fully live, with every major category under a group strategy and a named owner.
- Measurable, Finance-validated savings against a baseline; improved payment terms and inventory position.
- No unplanned supply interruptions on critical materials; dual sources qualified for the top-risk inputs.
- Supplier contracts, specifications and performance management in place for all strategic suppliers.
- A cohesive, capable regional team that operates as one function.
Why join
- Own a full-scope procurement function at Asia's category leader during its highest-growth period.
- Direct line of sight to the CEO and to the decisions that shape the company's next phase.
- Competitive package including equity participation.
